Beer Pong Challenge

15. January 2009

The Beer Pong Challenge App for the iPhone is superb for the drinker-on-the-go that is preparing for tonight's BIG Beer Pong Tournament.  I can't think of a better way to waste time at work than hiding in the bathroom stall, practicing for the game that will make you too drunk to show up for work tomorrow.  You can practice for your big tourny in single-player mode or you can ruin another co-workers chance for a promotion as well with a nice friend challenge on a 6 or 10 cup table.  To congratulate your great successes, you can decorate the game's garage each time you achieve a new high score by snapping a photo of yourself - and no, I'm not kidding.  teh beer pongz iz serrus biznes. Up There

12. January 2009

Up There really is up there... near the top of the "quality games list" in my head that-is. I am still a little frustrated I can't get further in the game as it's seemingly easy at first. The goal is to tilt your phone left and right to control the direction of a helium-filled balloon to avoid obstacles on it's way up. I'm not sure what's at the way-way top but I made it through a bunch of shelves, up out the top of the house through the chimney and into some trees. I know that after the trees you avoid clouds in the sky thanks to the tour video on the Up There Website. I don't think the replay value is there for this game, but it's certainly fun for a few plays. Give it a crack. Tilt It

11. January 2009

Tilt It should never have been released in my opinion. It's not polished at all. It has a hint of fun somewhere along the way but spend more than  couple of minutes and you quickly realize there are much more interesting games probably already installed on your iPhone or iPod Touch. If you want a cool version of Plinko go grab The Price is Right! game instead, it's much-much more entertaining. The Plateau

The Plateau is another game that got me by the brain and insisted that I play it over and over again. Quite simply you have to untangle the interconnected nodes so that none of them are crossing each other. The puzzles naturally get more challenging as you progress the levels by completing puzzles. The interactivity, theme, graphics, audio, everything, are all great! Fun game, grab it now! [ratings] [simpleviewer=61,500,382] Author Website: http://spoonjuice.com/

Smiles Drop

Bejeweled Drop, erm I mean Smiles Drop is great fun! I'm being a little hard on the game for the Bejeweled'esque gameplay, but  it's definitely justified. You can't help but notice the inspiration behind the game. There are a few twists though, one example is  that instead of swapping items next to each other you're swapping the previously selected item with another item anywhere on the board that will make a connection of 3 or more. It's tough to explain, but easy to pickup when you start playing. Rock it! [ratings] [simpleviewer=60,500,382] Author Website: http://www.smiles-game.com/

Skizzle

Skizzle is okay I suppose. It does one thing well. If you were ever entertained by those little picture puzzles with the sliding squares then you'll enjoy Skizzle. You can muck around with the settings to adjust the level of difficulty, create your own custom puzzles, share them with friends, etc. I say one-thumb up. ScribBall

The first thing I have to say about ScribBall is not to judge a game by it's graphics. At face-value I thought this game was going to be a bust. I was certainly wrong though. The gameplay is fun, unique and engaging. It's a fast-paced color matching game at heart, and even has a little puzzle action in the mix as well. Check out some action shots and even a funny picture of the developers in the gallery below. Pinch ‘n Pop!

Pinch 'n Pop! is one of the more intense and engaging games I've seen for the iPhone. You're constantly in  motion squeezing and squishing the little critters into each other. I read a comment somewhere by the developer that said the game's multi-touch capabilities can actually support up to 16 fingers interacting with it at once. I'd like to see that go down on a screen so small - ha! It's a tough game to explain, but I would recommend it. It's entertaining for sure, and the little critters are cute. Gallery after the jump.
