Backyard Baseball

Backyard Baseball is a fun game to kill 5-10 minutes with. You’re a little ballplayer dropped into a sandlot with a pitching machine and mechanical targets. Think batting-cage full of knock-down targets. Each target has a value of either single, double, triple, or homerun.

The game consists of 3 innings, each with 3 outs. Each time you miss a target 1 out is accumulated. These targets pop-up in random locations each time and with less targets available overall as you progress.

The pitching machine launches a ball and you tap the screen to swing. Tap early to pull the ball into the left-field targets, late for right-field targets, and of course somewhere in between to go up the middle. When you knock down a target your virtual teammates progress through the bases in an effort to cross home-plate, racking up points in the process.

If you like simple cartoon games this one is worth grabbing. I especially like the sound-effects.
